Computational Genomics
Dr Weerachai Jaratlerdsiri (left) heads the computational analytics within the Lab, which includes establishing internal pipelines for data pre-processing for variant discovery, germline short variant discovery, somatic short variant discovery, and structural variant discovery. The team has a particular interest in revealing tumour genome complexity, including focused student bioinformatic projects, while Weerachai is establishing his independence in Computational Biology with a focus on areas related to machine learning approaches for somatic variant recognition and both human and tumour evolutionary studies.

SoSV is a web-based performance calculator for somatic structural variant detection established by Dr Tingting Gong during her PhD study and published in 2020. Tingting is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Human Phenome Institute at Fudan University in China and remains an active collaborator of the lab.
